A perfume burglar who posed for selfies with large quantities of cash is among the criminals who were jailed in Surrey during April. The list also includes a drug gang leader who spent the spoils of his crimes on cosmetic surgery.

Three burglars appear on the list: two who broke into a home in Esher, and one who used his victims’ bank cards to go on shopping sprees. An abusive rail passenger who threatened to pull out guns when confronted by a train manager has also been given a custodial sentence.

Burglar’s spending spree with victims’ bank cards

A prolific burglar who went on spending sprees with his victims’ bank cards was sentenced to two years and five months after pleading guilty to multiple burglary offences at Guildford Crown Court on Monday, April 4.

In once incident, Lloyd Ernest Edwards, of Cherry Down Road, Croydon, stole his victim’s handbag which contained bank cards and lottery tickets. The 35-year-old was caught on CCTV using the cards at more local shops including JD Sports. Read the full story here.

Burglars who targeted Surrey home

David Parsons, 70, of Hounslow Road in Feltham, and Karl West, 53, of Rockingham Road in Uxbridge, were sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on April 13 following a burglary in Esher in January this year.

According to Surrey Police, the pair broke into a residential address on January 17, waking up the victim who spotted them in his garden shining their torches. The victim quickly called the police, informing officers that his living room window was broken and silverware was missing from his cabinet. Read the full story here.

Abusive woman who threatened to pull out guns on train manager

An abusive woman from Weybridge who stripped in front of rail passengers, called them “terrorists” and threatened to take out guns on a train has been jailed.

Trisha Clifton, 49, pleaded guilty to religiously aggravated behaviour and being in breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order. On Monday, April 4, she was sentenced at Reading Magistrates’ Court to 26 weeks in prison. Read the full story here.

Perfume burglar posed for selfies with ‘large quantities of cash’

Searches of 33-year-old Bogdan Florea’s phone found multiple images of fragrances stolen from high street pharmacies, satellite navigation directions to the targeted stores, and pictures of himself with large quantities of cash.

Florea has now been jailed for four and a half years after pleading guilty to multiple commercial burglary offences and possessing false documents. Read the full story here.

Drug gang leader used illegal funds for cosmetic surgery

The final member of a gang of six men who were arrested over large-scale cocaine and cannabis drug dealing was sentenced at the start of the month. Jack Richardson received a sentence of 11 years and three months for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

According to Surrey Police, the 32-year-old “spent the spoils of his illegal operation on a lavish lifestyle” including renovations to his high-end home, a collection of cars and a trip to Turkey where he purchased a new hairline and extensive dental work. Read the full story here.
